Price Manipulation

Some petrol pump employees or owners may manipulate fuel prices to cheat customers. Always check the meter when refueling to avoid falling prey to such scams.

Tampering with the Meter

In some cases, fuel pump owners and staff may install an electronic chip in the machine to show a full amount of fuel on the meter while actually providing less to the customer.

Unauthorized Synthetic Oil Filling

At certain petrol stations, customers may unknowingly receive synthetic oil instead of regular fuel. Synthetic oil is typically 5 to 10 percent more expensive, leading to higher charges. Always instruct the pump attendant clearly before refueling.
