New Rule Effective from October 1

A new regulation concerning biometric Aadhaar authentication for LPG consumers came into effect on October 1, 2026. According to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, domestic gas consumers who have not completed this process must authenticate before booking gas cylinders at the subsidized rate. Those who have already completed their biometric verification do not need to repeat the process.

How to Complete E-KYC from Home?

Gas consumers can complete their Aadhaar-based biometric authentication through their gas company's official mobile app. For instance, Indane consumers can use the IndianOil ONE app, Bharat Gas consumers can utilize the HelloBPCL app, and HP Gas consumers can access the HP PAY app. Additionally, this process can also be completed by interacting with the delivery personnel at the time of gas cylinder delivery or by visiting the local gas agency office.

Check Bank Account and Aadhaar Information

If you have completed your e-KYC but still do not see the subsidy amount in your account, it is crucial to check the information linked to your bank account. According to the official guidelines of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, beneficiaries must ensure that their Aadhaar is linked to their bank account and correctly registered in the NPCI mapper. In case of any discrepancies, consumers should contact their bank or the respective gas distributor.
