Essential Guidelines for CUET-UG 2026: Dress Code and Items Allowed
Important Advisory for CUET-UG Candidates
New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released an important advisory for students preparing to take the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) in 2026, detailing the dress code and items that are allowed at the exam centers.
Scheduled to take place from May 11 to May 31, the CUET-UG will be conducted across India and in 15 international cities.
In a notice published on Thursday, the NTA confirmed that the exam will utilize a computer-based testing (CBT) format.
The advisory outlines the dress code and the items candidates can bring to the examination venues.
Candidates are permitted to carry transparent water bottles into the exam centers.
Additionally, individuals may wear religious articles or objects, provided they report to the center early for necessary security checks.
The NTA specifically mentioned that religious threads, such as 'kalava', are acceptable.
Furthermore, the advisory recommends wearing light-colored clothing, and candidates may don woolens if necessary, again with early reporting for security checks.
For footwear, normal shoes, slippers, and low-heeled options are advised for those taking the exam.
