Intensified Military Actions in the Middle East

On March 2, 2026, alarming reports are emerging from Western Asia. The forces of US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have escalated 'Operation Epic Fury' aimed at completely dismantling Iran's military and political infrastructure.

Following the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the US and Israel launched significant attacks across various locations in Iran on Sunday, targeting ballistic missile sites and destroying naval vessels. Meanwhile, President Trump indicated his willingness to engage in dialogue with Iran's new leadership, stating in an interview with a magazine, “They want to talk, I have agreed to negotiate, so I will speak with them.”

However, just a day prior, Trump had urged the Iranian populace to take control of their government. According to Iranian officials, since the onset of these attacks, over 200 individuals, including Khamenei and other senior leaders, have lost their lives. In retaliation, Iran has launched missiles at Israel and Arab nations.

Israeli defense services reported attacks on multiple sites, including a synagogue in Jerusalem and the central city of Beit Shemesh, resulting in nine fatalities and 28 injuries, bringing the total death toll in Israel to 11.

Authorities have reported that 11 individuals remain missing following the attacks. Yet, assaults on Iran show no signs of abating, as the US and Israel continue to target critical military, political, and intelligence facilities, suggesting that the conflict may escalate further and lead to prolonged instability across the region.

On Sunday, the US military confirmed that three of its soldiers were killed and five others seriously injured during the operations against Iran, marking the first acknowledgment of American casualties in this extensive military campaign.

In a video posted on social media, President Trump vowed to avenge the deaths of American soldiers, warning that more casualties could occur before the conflict concludes. Israeli Brigadier General Effie Defrin stated in a press conference that 100 fighter jets simultaneously attacked multiple sites in Tehran, targeting buildings associated with Iran's air force, missile command, and internal security forces.

The US military reported that B-2 stealth bombers struck Iran's ballistic missile sites with bombs weighing approximately 900 kilograms. Trump also mentioned that nine Iranian warships had been sunk and that the headquarters of the Iranian navy had been largely destroyed.

While Europe has remained aloof from the conflict, advocating for a diplomatic resolution, signs of the conflict spreading to other nations have prompted Britain, France, and Germany to announce their support for the US in curbing Iran's attacks. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that the UK would allow the US to utilize its military bases to strike Iran's missile sites.
