Escalating Tensions: Israel's Attacks on Lebanon Amid Ceasefire Announcement
Ongoing Violence in West Asia
New Delhi. Although a ceasefire has been declared between Iran, Israel, and the United States, peace remains elusive in West Asia. Israel has conducted airstrikes in various locations, including the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
According to officials, these devastating attacks have resulted in at least 254 fatalities and over 1,165 injuries. Prior to this, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Lebanon would not be included in the ceasefire agreement. Following the Israeli assaults, Lebanon has declared a day of mourning, with more than 200 casualties and over 1,000 injuries reported nationwide.

Iran Issues Warning to the U.S. Regarding Lebanon Attacks
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned that the U.S. must choose between a ceasefire or continuing the conflict through Israel.
In a post on social media, Araghchi stated that the conditions for a ceasefire between Iran and the U.S. are clear, and the U.S. must decide—either a ceasefire or ongoing warfare through Israel. He emphasized that both options cannot coexist.
Araghchi remarked that the entire world is witnessing the massacre occurring in Lebanon. The ball is now in the U.S.'s court, and the world is watching to see if it will uphold its commitments.
Iran's Response to Israeli Actions
A senior Iranian official informed a media outlet that the country will retaliate against Israel for its actions in Lebanon and violations of ceasefire terms.
The official stated that the ceasefire must encompass this region, and Israel is known for breaking promises, which can only be halted through force.
Ceasefire at Risk
This warning comes as Iran has accused Israel of jeopardizing a fragile ceasefire established between the U.S. and Iran, which was intended to halt hostilities for two weeks. It cautioned that ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon could lead to the collapse of the agreement and escalate tensions in the Strait of Hormuz.
