Escalating Tensions: Iran's Missile Strike and Israel's Response
Iran's Claims and Israel's Reaction
Shortly after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran asserted that it targeted the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he made a public appearance. On Monday evening, Netanyahu reportedly visited the site in Beit Shemesh that was struck by an Iranian missile, which resulted in the deaths of at least nine individuals. While expressing his condolences to the families affected, Netanyahu emphasized that Israel's military actions are aimed at protecting its citizens, contrasting this with Iran's attacks on civilian areas.
Netanyahu stated, "This marks the third day of Operation Roaring Lion, a mission initiated by Israel in collaboration with our esteemed allies in the United States, including President Trump, to counter significant threats to both Israel and America globally. Standing here in a location that was bombarded by terrorists from Tehran against innocent civilians, I reaffirm our commitment to defend our people."

He further remarked, "The distinction is clear: the tyrants in Tehran target civilians, while we focus on eliminating those tyrants to safeguard our people. For years, I have warned that their threats extend beyond Israel and America, as they chant for our destruction."
Earlier that day, the IRGC claimed responsibility for a missile strike on Netanyahu's office and the Israeli Air Force commander in what they described as a surprise attack. They stated that the fate of Netanyahu remains uncertain following this incident. The missiles used in this alleged attack were reportedly Kheibar missiles, although Israel has not confirmed these assertions.
The IRGC declared, "The office of the criminal Prime Minister of the Zionist regime and the location of the Commander of the Air Force of this regime's army were targeted and severely hit by our Kheibar missiles in a surprise attack during the tenth wave of operations by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran." They vowed to retaliate against those responsible for the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, promising a response that would be the "most ferocious offensive operation in history" against both the US and Israel.
Recent tensions in the Middle East have escalated following joint airstrikes conducted by the United States and Israel on Iran, which resulted in the deaths of several high-ranking Iranian officials, including Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In retaliation, Iran has launched missile attacks targeting Israeli cities and US military installations in the Gulf region. Reports indicate that the IRGC has executed ten waves of missile and drone strikes against Israel and US bases. Additionally, the IRGC claimed that four ballistic missiles struck the US aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, a claim that the US Central Command has denied.
