Local media reported that Iranian lawmakers have suggested imposing tolls and taxes on vessels transiting through the strategically important Hormuz Strait. Somayeh Rafiei, an Iranian parliament member, informed the ISNA news agency that they are working on a plan that would require ships using the Strait for transit, energy, and food security to pay tolls and taxes to the Islamic Republic.

Oman Condemns Attacks on Energy Facilities in the Gulf

Oman has condemned Iranian attacks on energy facilities in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, as reported by its state news agency. According to Reuters, Oman, which previously mediated talks between the U.S. and Iran, has urged other nations to avoid targeting civilian infrastructure and emphasized the need to adhere to international law.

Oman Calls for Respecting Civilian Infrastructure

In light of Iranian attacks on energy plants following Israeli strikes in South Pars, Oman has reiterated the importance of following international law. Reuters reported that Oman has also called on other countries to refrain from targeting civilian facilities and the global energy supply.

Saudi Arabia Halts Oil Loading at Yanbu Port

Sources informed Reuters that oil loading was halted at Saudi Arabia's Yanbu port on Thursday. This incident occurred after the country's defense ministry intercepted a ballistic missile that was flying over the city. Earlier that morning, a drone crashed at the SAMREF refinery in Saudi Arabia, where damage assessments are currently underway.
