Infrastructure Improvements at Jaipur Airport

Jaipur International Airport Limited, a private sector company, has initiated infrastructure upgrades at Jaipur Airport to enhance passenger facilities in response to increasing traveler numbers.

According to a company official, over ₹600 crores have been allocated for 14 projects aimed at improving various aspects of the airport and enhancing the overall experience for travelers.

The official stated, "The primary goal of these projects is to upgrade the airport's infrastructure to meet international standards and provide a superior travel experience." A significant component of this initiative is the expansion of Terminal-2.

Jaipur International Airport Limited (JIAL) operates as a subsidiary of Adani Airport Holdings Limited.

The expansion will increase the terminal's total capacity by 15,000 square meters. Currently, there are 39 check-in counters at the terminal, and plans are in place to add 24 new counters, raising the total to 63 and minimizing wait times for passengers.

In addition to the new check-in counters, the airport will also introduce eight more Self-Baggage Drop (SBD) counters.

The official added, "The installation of nine new X-Ray Baggage Inspection System (XBIS) machines will enhance the security screening process."

Furthermore, the number of boarding gates will increase from six to ten, with two new entrances being constructed, bringing the total to six. A new forecourt area of 6,000 square meters will also be developed.
