Increased Vigilance at the India-Bangladesh Border

Nilambazar, Dec 21: In response to the current unrest in Bangladesh, the Border Security Force (BSF) has intensified security protocols along the India-Bangladesh frontier, particularly in the Cachar and Mizoram sectors.

Special precautions have been implemented, especially in the riverine zones adjacent to the international borders of Sribhumi and Cachar districts.

Reports indicate that the BSF has mobilized its intelligence units along the border and is maintaining a heightened state of alert to thwart any attempts at infiltration or illegal immigration. The force is actively monitoring developments and is ready to act as per legal guidelines.

Advanced security technologies, including thermal imaging cameras, night-vision devices, and CCTV systems, have been deployed along the riverine stretch of the Kushiyara.

India's border with Bangladesh spans 4,096 kilometers, with Assam's Sribhumi district covering approximately 94 kilometers and Cachar district accounting for 27 kilometers. The government has also issued a high alert for the secondary line of defense.

In related news, violence has surged in Bangladesh following the assassination of Sharif Osman Hadi, a notable leader of the youth movement. Hadi, aged 32 and a senior figure in the student protest organization Inqilab Mancha, was shot by masked assailants in Dhaka last week and later died from his injuries in a Singapore hospital.
