Injury Concerns for England's Fast Bowlers

England's fast bowling lineup is undergoing a significant reshuffle ahead of their white-ball series against the West Indies due to an injury sustained by Josh Tongue during a training session with the England Lions in the UAE. Tongue will miss the upcoming three-match ODI series and the subsequent five T20I matches, as reported by ICC.

In his place, Matthew Potts, a relatively inexperienced right-arm bowler, has been called up for the ODI series. Potts has previously played three ODIs for England, with his last appearance being against Ireland in Bristol just before the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup.

Although Tongue has participated in two Test matches, he has yet to make his debut in white-ball cricket and was eager to showcase his skills after England's disappointing exit from the recent 50-over World Cup in India.

The ODI squad for England includes: Jos Buttler (c), Rehan Ahmed, Gus Atkinson, Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Zak Crawley, Sam Curran, Ben Duckett, Tom Hartley, Will Jacks, Liam Livingstone, Ollie Pope, Phil Salt, Matthew Potts, and John Turner. The T20 squad features: Jos Buttler (c), Rehan Ahmed, Moeen Ali, Gus Atkinson, Harry Brook, Sam Curran, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Liam Livingstone, Tymal Mills, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, Josh Tongue, Reece Topley, John Turner, and Chris Woakes.

The schedule for England's tour of the West Indies is as follows: 1st ODI on December 3 at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua; 2nd ODI on December 6 at the same venue; 3rd ODI on December 9 at Kensington Oval, Barbados; 1st T20I on December 12 at Kensington Oval; 2nd T20I on December 14 at Grenada National Stadium; 3rd T20I on December 16 at Grenada National Stadium; 4th T20I on December 19 at Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Trinidad; and 5th T20I on December 21 at the same venue.
