Duckett's impressive innings of 141 runs off 135 balls, featuring 18 fours and a six, placed him alongside cricket greats such as Dennis Amiss and Marcus Trescothick as the sixth player to achieve a century at Lord's in both formats. Throughout the series, he has scored fifties in every match, totaling 249 runs without being dismissed, the highest by any player in an ODI series.

A quick-fire innings from Jos Buttler, who scored 41 runs off just 13 balls, propelled England to a staggering total of 387/3, marking the highest score ever recorded at Lord's, surpassing their previous record of 334/4 set against the same team during the 1975 World Cup. The explosive partnership between Root and Buttler yielded 63 runs in just 19 balls, achieving a run rate of 19.89, the highest for a 50+ partnership against India in ODIs.

India's Bowling Struggles

This total ranks as the fourth-highest ODI score against India, with South Africa's 438/4 in 2015 still holding the record. India faced significant challenges, conceding 126 runs in the final overs, marking their third-worst performance in that phase. The absence of injured bowler Jasprit Bumrah was felt keenly. Gurnoor Brar, who had shown promise in previous matches, ended with disappointing figures of 0 wickets for 97 runs in 10 overs, one of the poorest performances by an Indian bowler.
