Inauguration of the NSS Conference in Bhopal

On March 16, 2026, Bhopal witnessed the launch of the 'State-Level National Service Scheme (NSS) Conference 2026', aimed at channeling the energy of youth towards discipline and social responsibility. This event was organized by the Regional Directorate of Bhopal under the leadership of Dr. Ashok Kumar Shroti, the Regional Director for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, with the central theme of "Solutions through Dialogue".



The conference commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Anupam Rajan, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) for Higher Education. In his address, he praised the disciplined conduct and operational methods of NSS volunteers.



He proudly noted, "In the history of the Higher Education Department of Madhya Pradesh, NSS volunteers have never caused any issues for the department or the government. This is a testament to their values and commitment to the organization." He emphasized the innovative initiatives and social campaigns led by NSS across the state as essential for modern society. He assured that the Higher Education Department would make special efforts to enhance the effectiveness and strength of NSS activities in Madhya Pradesh.



Dr. Ashok Kumar Shroti, the Government of India’s NSS Sub-Program Advisor, shared the vision of the conference, highlighting how volunteers are fostering positive changes at the grassroots level through dialogue. Distinguished guests, including Shailendra Singh (CEO and ADM, Satna) and Dr. Shivkumar Sharma (Principal, Madhav College, Gwalior), were present to discuss the significance of NSS from both administrative and academic perspectives.



During the technical session of the conference, program coordinators from seven universities in Madhya Pradesh participated. Each coordinator presented details of special activities and innovations conducted under their respective universities through PowerPoint presentations.

Proposed 'dialogue-based' community programs and innovations for upcoming sessions.



The success of this grand event was primarily attributed to the team at the Regional Directorate of Bhopal and the adept guidance of Dr. Ashok Kumar Shroti and Dr. Rajkumar Verma. Under their leadership, the NSS department of Madhya Pradesh is carving out a unique identity on the national stage.
