Celebration of Women's Empowerment in Jaipur
Jaipur, known as the Pink City, witnessed a powerful celebration of women's strength on March 9, 2026, coinciding with International Women's Day. The two-day event, titled Women’s Mahakumbh "Shakti Vandan – A Tribute to India's Essence," created a remarkable blend of confidence, empowerment, and cultural pride. This gathering not only honored women but also infused a renewed energy of female empowerment across Rajasthan.
Held at the Jawahar Kala Kendra's Shilp Gram, the grand Mahakumbh attracted thousands of women and girls. The event was inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, while the outgoing mayor, Dr. Saumya Gurjar, described it as a festival of women's empowerment. Notable personalities like actress Raveena Tandon and singer-legislator Maithili Thakur inspired attendees with their presence.
The event, associated with the legacy of Mother Pannadhay, emphasized self-defense, health awareness, skill development, and cultural performances. Over a thousand daughters received the 'Shakti Kavach' (self-defense training and safety equipment), symbolizing a strong sense of confidence. Women shared their stories on stage, celebrating entrepreneurial successes and triumphs over social challenges.
Dr. Saumya Gurjar remarked, "This Mahakumbh is not just an event; it is a means to awaken the hidden strength within every woman. The Pink City resonates with the voices of women, and this message will reach across the nation."
Raveena Tandon addressed the women, stating that confidence is the greatest weapon, and this Mahakumbh serves to strengthen that weapon. Maithili Thakur moved the audience with devotional music and inspiring songs.
This Women’s Mahakumbh has become a source of inspiration not only for Jaipur but for women across India. It showcased cultural heritage while also presenting the image of a strong modern Indian woman. The echoes of this celebration in the Pink City have now become a lasting symbol of confidence, proclaiming: Women’s strength is unwavering, eternal!
