Workshop Aims to Enhance Women's Empowerment
A workshop aimed at empowering women and girls took place on Thursday in Nagaon, located within the Agalpur block of Bolangir district. The event sought to enhance awareness and promote welfare initiatives for women and girls.
Organized by the voluntary organization ‘Child Rights and You’ in partnership with Palli Alok Pathagar, the workshop featured several key speakers.
District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Sujata Dora served as the chief guest and emphasized the importance of the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) in improving maternal and child health.
Shivani Thakur, the coordinator for the Mamata Yojana, presented on critical topics such as child marriage, nutrition, and women's health.
She also highlighted the significance of helpline services, including 181 for women's assistance, 1098 for children, and 112 for emergencies, while sharing details about the One Stop Centre and Swadhar Griha initiatives.
Sudhir Kumar Panda, the RBSK Manager at the district hospital, discussed various health programs, including Amlan, Khushi, and Shraddha Clinic, along with the distribution of iron supplements for adolescent girls.
Health Services Manager Hemant Nag informed participants about the availability of 12 essential health services at the village level and advocated for the strengthening of Rural Welfare Committees to foster healthier communities.
