Tribal Community's Call for Recognition

In Dholpur, a pivotal step was taken to strengthen the identity and rights of the tribal community through the Tribal Meena Panch Patel Mahapanchayat. Under the leadership of District President Rameshwar Dayal Meena Khinnot, a memorandum was submitted to the Governor of Rajasthan via the divisional commissioner of Bharatpur.

The memorandum emphasizes the need for a separate column for the tribal community in the upcoming 2026 census. This is aimed at accurately assessing their population, social status, and rights. The Mahapanchayat argued that the current system fails to clearly identify tribal individuals, preventing them from benefiting fully from government schemes.

Historical references were made in the memorandum, highlighting that during the British era, a distinct census for tribal populations was conducted, and their unique identity is recognized internationally.

Officials from the Mahapanchayat warned that failure to address this demand could lead to increased discontent within the tribal community. They also urged the Governor to forward this request to the central government and the President with recommendations.

Numerous representatives and activists from the community attended the event. In closing, the district president expressed gratitude to all participants, affirming that the campaign for tribal rights will continue unabated.

This memorandum was presented under the guidance of the National President of the Mahapanchayat, Dr. Purushottam Lal Meena, and the State President, Mr. Prithviraj Meena.

The establishment of a separate column will not only ensure proper access to government schemes but will also facilitate the formulation of more effective policies for the overall development of the community.

The event saw the presence of several activists, including Ram Lakhan Meena, Shyam Meena, Chandrashekhar Meena, Ajay Meena (Kasothikhera), Charat Meena (Kanchanpura), Rajkumar Meena (Bathuakhoth), Harinarayan, Sobran Singh Meena Khemri, Mangal Singh Meena Baroli, Mohan, Manoj (Karauli), Uday Singh (Karauli), Vijay Singh, Sanjay, Bhim Singh, and Sahadev.
