Meeting Highlights on Van Dhan Yojana

A pivotal gathering of self-help groups established under the Van Dhan Yojana took place at the Mini Secretariat in Bharmaur, presided over by Vikas Sharma, the Additional District Magistrate. The District Forest Officer, Navnath Mane, was also in attendance.


During the session, Van Dhan Surveyors Manorama Devi and Sanjay Kumar elaborated on the Van Dhan Vikas Yojana, which aims to empower tribal communities collectively. This initiative focuses on merging traditional knowledge with contemporary technology to boost the income of tribal families.


They emphasized that Van Dhan Vikas Kendras function in forest-abundant tribal regions, promoting community involvement. Under the guidance of TRIFED, the program aims to improve economic prospects for tribal households through the primary processing, packaging, and value addition of fruits, spices, medicinal plants, and other minor forest products.


In-depth discussions were conducted regarding the operations of the Van Dhan Kendras, and instructions were issued to ensure the effective implementation of associated activities.


Representatives from the Forest Department, including Dr. Manohar Lal (SMS) from the Horticulture Department, ATMA officials from the Agriculture Department, and other relevant personnel were also present.
