A three-day training initiative for educators titled “Indian Knowledge Tradition and the Values of Education” commenced today, August 11, at the Maharishi Vidya Mandir School in Khatehar, Dharamshala.

The program began with a Guru Pujan ceremony, followed by sessions of Pranayama and meditation that included all participating teachers. The first day's focus was on the theme of Indian Knowledge Tradition and Educational Values, with Principal Arun Kumar Sharma and 18 educators in attendance.

Resource Person Ms. Preeti Singh emphasized the richness of India's educational heritage, noting that it encompasses more than just academic learning. She highlighted essential values such as truth, discipline, morality, self-awareness, respect for nature, the Guru-Shishya tradition, and holistic personality development. Singh asserted that education should foster ethical behavior, positive mindset, and essential life skills rather than focusing solely on academic achievements.

Throughout the program, teachers participated in interactive activities and discussions, exploring ways to incorporate these values into their teaching methodologies. Principal Sharma encouraged the educators to instill these principles in their students, underscoring the significance of value-based education.

This three-day initiative is designed to broaden teachers' knowledge, improve their teaching abilities, and promote both professional and personal development, while also reinforcing the integration of Indian values into contemporary educational practices.
