The Anticipation of Salary Day

Every employee eagerly awaits the first of the month, as it marks the arrival of their salary. This day brings a sense of joy, filling their pockets and allowing them to indulge in various pleasures while also settling numerous bills. The excitement peaks when they receive a notification of their salary being credited to their account.

A Shocking Salary Mistake

Imagine the surprise if a company mistakenly deposits millions instead of the expected salary. This bizarre situation occurred in Chile, where a company named Food Industrial Consortium (Cial) accidentally credited an employee with 286 times his actual salary. The employee's correct salary was 500,000 pesos (approximately 43,000 INR), but the company mistakenly transferred 165,398,851 Chilean pesos (around 1.42 crore INR) into his bank account.

The Company and Its Brands

Cial is known for its major Chilean brands, including San Jorge, La Preferida, and Winter, and is the largest producer of cecinas, a type of dried meat originating from Spain. When the company realized the error, they requested the employee to return the excess funds.

The Employee's Disappearance

However, instead of returning the money, the employee, accompanied by his lawyer, submitted his resignation and vanished. He assured the company that he would return the funds, but since then, he has gone completely off the radar. The company discovered the overpayment on May 30, and the employee resigned on June 2. This unusual incident has recently gone viral on social media.
