The emergency was declared at 2:45 PM, and the aircraft safely touched down at 3:27 PM. Airport Management Comments on the Incident

In response to the situation, the airport management provided details about the emergency landing. They confirmed that flight IGO 1452, carrying 194 passengers, was diverted to Rajkot after smoke was observed in the cargo hold. To ensure passenger safety, a 'full emergency' was declared at 2:45 PM. The aircraft landed safely at 3:27 PM at Hirasar Airport in Rajkot. Prior to landing, police and fire department personnel were stationed at the airport due to concerns of a potential fire. Fortunately, all 194 passengers were evacuated safely, preventing a major incident.

Technicians Investigate the Cause of Smoke

Authorities confirmed that all passengers were safely evacuated without injuries, and technicians have begun investigating the source of the smoke. Inspector K.P. Taretia from the airport police station reported that the pilot informed air traffic control about the smoke concern and requested permission for an emergency landing. Taretia stated, "The pilot suspected smoke inside the aircraft and opted for an emergency landing at Rajkot Airport. The aircraft landed safely." He added that all passengers were moved to a designated area inside the airport terminal. Officials noted that the airline's technical team has arrived at the airport to inspect the aircraft, confirming that there was no fire on board.
