Minister Ranoj Pegu Launches Campaign in Dhemaji

Guwahati, March 25: On Wednesday, Minister Ranoj Pegu commenced his election campaign in Aadikoliya village, located in Dhemaji district near the Arunachal Pradesh border. He emphasized the existing infrastructure deficiencies and unveiled significant development plans aimed at enhancing connectivity and education in the region.

During a media briefing, Pegu characterized the area as underdeveloped and highlighted the necessity for ongoing government support to enhance essential services.

“This region, adjacent to Arunachal Pradesh, is considered backward, and we are initiating our campaign from Aadikoliya. A primary focus has been on improving connectivity. Through the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, we are effectively linking villages in this area,” he stated.

He also revealed that a road project connecting the hilly areas to Silapathar has received approval, with construction expected to start soon.

“A road along the foothills leading to Silapathar has been sanctioned. The groundwork is complete, and construction will begin shortly, which will greatly facilitate movement for local residents,” Pegu noted.

In terms of education, the minister pointed out the lack of higher secondary institutions in several locations, including Lakhipathar, North Dhemaji, and Bishnupur.

“There are no higher secondary schools in Lakhipathar, North Dhemaji, and Bishnupur. To fill this void, we are proposing the establishment of a model degree college to provide better access to higher education for students in these areas,” he explained.

Pegu stressed that enhancing road connectivity and expanding educational facilities would be vital for the overall progress of the district, especially in remote and border regions.

These announcements are part of the ongoing campaign efforts in Dhemaji, where issues related to connectivity and the scarcity of educational institutions are significant concerns for voters.
