Elderly Parents Forced to Live in Shack by Their Sons: A Lesson for All
Sons Evict Elderly Parents from Their Home
While many parents manage to raise multiple children together, some children fail to care for their elderly parents. In Chikhali Chowk, five sons have forced their elderly mother and 86-year-old father to live in a shack. For the past 15 years, the couple has been surviving in these dire conditions. The father, Hiralal Sahu, revealed that his sons—Sumran Lal, Hukoom Sahu, Pramod Sahu, Umanshkar, and Kirtan Sahu—built a house on the land they purchased, leaving their disabled mother and elderly father homeless. This incident serves as a crucial lesson for both parents and children.
Hiralal, along with his wife, has been residing in a shack for the last 15 years. Despite numerous pleas to his sons to allow them to stay in the house, none of the sons were willing to listen. In a desperate move, Hiralal gathered the courage to file a complaint against all five sons at the Chikhali police station. The police have registered a case against the sons under Section 24 of the Senior Citizens Act, 2007, and have initiated action. Hiralal, a former government press employee, had purchased the land with hopes of living with his sons and grandchildren in the future. However, his sons constructed a house on the land without his consent, forcing their elderly parents out. Following the police action, Hiralal will now be able to live in the house built on his land after spending 15 years in a shack due to his sons' actions.
After the complaint was filed, four of Hiralal's sons were arrested. One son resides in Bhopal, which is why the police could not apprehend him. However, the other sons were taken into custody, and notably, they have since been granted bail. Following their release, the four sons have agreed to bring their mother back home.
Hiralal's Generosity Towards Flood Victims
Despite living in a shack for 15 years, Hiralal has performed many good deeds, the most notable being his generous donation of ₹70,000 to flood victims in Kerala. He contributed this amount through the district administration, using funds he had saved during his employment. Parents are often considered the most significant asset in a person's life, and it is essential to keep them happy at all costs. This story serves as a reminder for today's youth and encourages elderly individuals facing similar situations to seek legal recourse for their rights.
