Elderly Parents Evicted by Sons: A Lesson in Family Values
Sons Force Elderly Parents to Live in a Shack
While many parents successfully raise multiple children, some find themselves abandoned by their offspring. In Chikhali Chowk, five sons have forced their elderly mother and 86-year-old father to live in a makeshift shelter. For the past 15 years, the couple has been residing in this shack. The father, Hiralal Sahu, revealed that his sons—Sumran Lal, Hukoom Sahu, Pramod Sahu, Umanshankar, and Kirtan Sahu—constructed a house on land they purchased, leaving their disabled mother and aging father homeless. This incident has prompted Hiralal to take a stand that serves as a lesson for both parents and children.
Elderly Parents Evicted from Their Home
Hiralal, along with his wife, has been living in a shack for the last 15 years. Despite numerous pleas to his sons to allow them to stay in the house, the sons refused to listen. Not only did they ignore their father's requests, but they also avoided any communication. Eventually, Hiralal mustered the courage to file a complaint against all five sons at the Chikhali police station. The police have registered a case against the sons under Section 24 of the Senior Citizens Act, 2007, and have initiated action. Hiralal, a former government press employee, had purchased the land with the hope of spending his later years with his sons and grandchildren. However, his sons built a house on the property without his consent, forcing their elderly parents out. Following the legal action, Hiralal can now live in the house built on his land, after spending 15 years in a shack due to his sons' actions.
After the police complaint, four of Hiralal's sons were arrested. One son resides in Bhopal, which is why the police could not apprehend him. The other sons were taken into custody, and notably, they have since been granted bail. After their release, the four sons agreed to bring their mother back home.
Hiralal's Generosity Towards Flood Victims
Despite living in a shack for 15 years, Hiralal has performed many good deeds, including a significant act of charity when he donated ₹70,000 to flood victims in Kerala. He raised this amount during his employment and contributed it through the district administration. Parents are the most valuable asset in a person's life, and it is essential to keep them happy at all costs. This story serves as a reminder for today's youth, encouraging them to learn from it. Additionally, it urges elderly individuals facing mistreatment to seek legal recourse for their rights.
