Court Delivers Justice in Child Rape Case

A special court in Sultanpur has convicted an elderly man for the rape of a minor, sentencing him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment. The ruling was made by Judge Neeraj Kumar Srivastava, who also imposed a fine of ₹20,000 on the accused, Mohammad Akhtar.


According to Special Public Prosecutor Ramesh Chandra Singh, the incident occurred in 2024 within the jurisdiction of the Gosai Ganj police station. The victim's father reported that on February 11, 2024, while he and his wife were away from home, their relative, 65-year-old Mohammad Akhtar, visited their residence.


The complaint stated that Akhtar lured the girl into the forest and assaulted her. Following the complaint, the police apprehended the accused and filed a charge sheet. After the completion of the trial, the court found Akhtar guilty and sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment along with the monetary penalty.
