Tragic Accident in Bhadohi

An elderly man lost his life following a collision with an ambulance while riding his motorcycle in Bhadohi. This incident was reported by the police on Friday.


According to authorities, the accident occurred on Thursday evening near Rajpura Balu Mandi in the Kotwali city police jurisdiction. The victim, identified as 70-year-old Bhola Gautam from Nigoh village in the Barasathi police area of Jaunpur district, was en route to a private eye hospital in Bhadohi.


Station Officer Sachchidanand Pandey stated that the ambulance struck Gautam's motorcycle head-on, and the driver fled the scene immediately. The elderly man was rushed to Maharaja Balwant Singh Government Hospital, where he was later referred to Varanasi for further treatment.


Pandey further mentioned that Gautam succumbed to his injuries around 9 PM the same night after arriving in Varanasi. An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted in Varanasi. Efforts are underway to identify the ambulance driver using CCTV footage.


It was noted that Gautam had recently undergone eye surgery at Shyam Lal Memorial Eye Hospital in Bhadohi and was visiting for a routine check-up when the tragic accident occurred.
