Shinde Responds to Raut's Claims

Eknath Shinde, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, has rejected comments made by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, labeling them as unworthy of a response. This statement followed Raut's accusation that Shinde had approached Union Home Minister Amit Shah with 'stolen property'—referring to his faction. During a press conference, Shinde remarked that his spokesperson would address Raut's remarks, asserting that he finds it inappropriate to engage with such low-level comments.

Clarifying the Differences

Shinde elaborated on the distinctions between his faction of Shiv Sena and the UBT faction, stating that while the latter speaks of 'destruction,' his group focuses on 'progress and development.' He noted that Raut has been hurling insults for four years, which only complicates matters for himself. Shinde emphasized that the people of Maharashtra stand firmly with his faction.

Recent Meeting with Amit Shah

Discussing his recent meeting with the Home Minister, Shinde mentioned that six MPs who recently joined his faction accompanied him. The delegation sought support for developmental projects, clarifying that the meeting was entirely non-political. Shinde stated that they met Amit Shah to seek blessings and present various proposals related to development in their constituencies, including irrigation projects like Krishna-Marathwada, as well as initiatives in railways, roads, and rural development schemes such as MGNREGA and the PM Housing Scheme. Amit Shah assured them that he would coordinate with the relevant ministers to address these issues.

Raut's Criticism

Earlier, Sanjay Raut criticized Shinde's actions, questioning whether the rule of law still exists in the country. He accused Shinde of carrying what he termed 'stolen property' through the streets of Delhi, suggesting that the law does not intervene. Raut claimed that Shinde presented this 'bundle of theft' to the Home Minister, asking for approval, and expressed deep concern about the implications for the rule of law if the Home Minister supports such actions.
