Eknath Shinde Campaigns for Pune Municipal Elections, Emphasizes Development Agenda
Eknath Shinde's Campaign in Pune
On Friday, Eknath Shinde, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and leader of the Shiv Sena, conducted a campaign in Pune ahead of the municipal elections. He highlighted that the Mahayuti alliance is contesting the elections on development issues and is confident of winning in both Mumbai and Pune.
During his visit to Katraj, Shinde addressed the media, stating that he was unaware of any statements made by party workers but emphasized that both Shiv Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party are fully committed to the elections. He remarked, "We are contesting on the basis of development issues." Shinde also mentioned that the achievements during his two-and-a-half-year tenure as Chief Minister, along with the work done in the past year under Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, are being communicated directly to the public.
Confidence in Election Results
Expressing confidence about the election outcomes in Mumbai, Shinde asserted that voters will support the Mahayuti alliance based on development initiatives. He stated, "To put it simply, the Mayor of Mumbai will be from the Mahayuti alliance." Regarding the Pune municipal elections, Shinde noted that party workers and supporters are highly enthusiastic. He explained that in certain areas of Pune, Mahayuti allies are contesting together, while in others, they are running separately. He added, "In Pune, Shiv Sena is contesting independently, and our workers are determined to win this election."
Focusing on civic issues, the Shiv Sena leader emphasized that the party will address problems related to traffic, water supply, and basic civic amenities. He reiterated the party's commitment to making Pune a slum-free city, stating that development is at the core of Shiv Sena's agenda. Shinde warned, "The opposition should not underestimate us. Shiv Sena is a strong party."
Expanding Party Presence
He further stated that the party has expanded its presence across Maharashtra, dispelling the notion that it is limited to a few areas. Commenting on cow protection, Shinde noted that during his tenure as Chief Minister, the cow was designated as the 'state mother.'
