Significant Meeting Between Palaniswami and Modi

The General Secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), E.K. Palaniswami, had a brief meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the airport on Saturday night, as reported by the party.

Palaniswami welcomed the Prime Minister and engaged in a conversation that lasted several minutes. This encounter marked Palaniswami's first interaction with Modi since the electoral alliance between AIADMK and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was formed in April of this year.

This meeting holds significance in light of AIADMK's assertion that it will secure a majority in the upcoming 2026 assembly elections and form the government independently, while the BJP maintains its stance that it will be part of the government if the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) wins.

G.K. Vasan, a prominent leader of the Tamil Manila Congress (Mupanar), was also present at the airport to greet the Prime Minister. During an exclusive interview with a pro-AIADMK television channel, Palaniswami described his brief conversation with Modi as excellent.

Prime Minister Modi arrived here from Tuticorin after inaugurating projects worth approximately ₹4,900 crores.
