Eid-ul-Fitr Observance in India
If the moon is sighted in Saudi Arabia today, India will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Friday. Preparations have been finalized in mosques across the country. In Meerut, the Eid prayers will be held between 6 AM and 9 AM at various mosques, with the timings communicated by the administration and mosque committees.
Appeal from Religious Leaders
Religious leaders have urged the community to conduct Eid prayers exclusively in mosques and Eidgahs, avoiding street prayers to prevent traffic disruptions and inconvenience to the public. Special security arrangements have been made in the Meerut range, where prayers will take place at 460 Eidgahs and 1865 mosques. Sensitive areas will be monitored closely, with the region divided into 23 zones and 79 sectors to ensure effective security.
Deployment of Police Forces
Approximately 5000 police personnel have been deployed for the occasion. Additionally, 66 quick response teams have been established to provide immediate assistance if needed.
Enhanced Surveillance in Sensitive Areas
In sensitive locations, an increased police presence will be observed. Surveillance will also be conducted using drones and CCTV to monitor crowds and activities. Officials have stated that comprehensive preparations are in place to ensure the festival is celebrated peacefully and harmoniously. The prayer timings for Shia community mosques have also been set, with six mosques scheduled for prayers between 8 AM and 9 AM.
