Rockers Secure Victory in ETPL Match

In a thrilling encounter at Malahide, the Edinburgh Castle Rockers triumphed over the Dublin Guardians by 12 runs, continuing their unbeaten streak in the ETPL. The Rockers set a challenging target of 174 runs, while Dublin managed to score 162 runs for eight wickets.

Dublin won the toss and opted to bowl first. Despite losing Ross Adair on the very first ball, Edinburgh's batting lineup responded strongly. JJ Smuts contributed nine runs off seven balls before being dismissed when the score was 30, bringing Andries Gous and Brandon McMullen to the crease.

Andries Gous anchored the innings with a solid 50 runs from 40 balls, including six fours and two sixes. Following his departure, McMullen took charge, scoring an impressive unbeaten 69 runs off 49 balls, featuring five fours and four sixes. Laurie Evans chipped in with 14 runs from eight balls, while Mitchell Santner added a quick 27 runs from just 15 balls, helping Edinburgh finish at 174 for four.

Dublin's innings began with a promising partnership between James Vince and David Willey. Vince scored 17 runs off 13 balls before being dismissed, while Willey managed 33 runs from 30 balls. Harry Tector was the standout performer for Dublin, scoring 45 runs off just 29 balls, which included four fours and a six.

Despite contributions from Daryl Mitchell (18 runs) and George Dockrell (19 runs), Dublin fell short, finishing at 162 for eight.
