East Bengal struck first, scoring in the ninth minute when Edmund Lalrindika's shot took an unexpected bounce, allowing Yazeed Abulaila to deflect it towards Ramírez, who scored easily. Al Hussein responded with several attempts, including a near miss from Aref Haitham and a powerful header from Pedro Henrique that was saved by Prabhsukhan Singh Gill. The Indian team nearly doubled their lead in the 38th minute during a counterattack, but Lalrindika missed a close-range shot. They did extend their lead two minutes later when Ramírez's corner was misjudged by Abulaila, resulting in a goal off Anwar Ali's shoulder.

Al Hussein's Resilient Comeback

After halftime, Al Hussein intensified their efforts to equalize, but their initial attempts were off target. Their persistence paid off in the 61st minute when Kharouba intercepted a pass from Hardik Bhatt, drove into the box, and assisted captain Mahmoud Al Mardi, who scored. Al Hussein continued to press and found the equalizer in the 87th minute when Ahmad Assaf converted a cross from Obaida Al Namarnah.
