Revamped Identity for Durban's Super Giants

On Wednesday, the SA20 franchise Durban’s Super Giants (DSG) revealed a refreshed identity, featuring a new logo along with a vibrant color scheme of red, blue, and gold, marking an exciting new chapter as they prepare for the 2027 season.

New Identity Embodies Durban's Essence

Since its inception in the SA20, DSG has aimed to establish more than just a competitive cricket team; it strives to create a franchise that resonates with the spirit of Durban, showcasing the city's dynamic energy, diversity, and love for sports. The new branding aligns with this vision, where red symbolizes the team's passion and energy, blue signifies strength and confidence, and gold embodies ambition and the quest for excellence.

Implementation of the New Look

The updated branding will be reflected across all aspects of DSG, including their playing and training kits, merchandise, digital platforms, and fan engagement initiatives as they gear up for the upcoming SA20 season.

Strengthening the Super Giants Brand Globally

This transformation also aligns Durban's Super Giants with the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL and the Manchester Super Giants in The Hundred, fostering a more cohesive and recognizable Super Giants brand across three prominent cricket markets. While sharing a unified visual identity, each franchise will maintain its unique connection to its respective city, culture, and fanbase, ensuring that DSG remains rooted in Durban.

Leadership Insights on the Revamp

Sanjiv Goenka, Chairman of RPSG Group, expressed that the new identity captures the vibrant energy and sporting enthusiasm of Durban, reflecting the franchise's ambition to excel at the highest levels while fostering pride within the community. He stated, "Durban is a city filled with remarkable energy and warmth. We aspire for Durban's Super Giants to embody that spirit and create a franchise that the city can genuinely take pride in. This new identity signifies our aspirations for DSG, aiming to compete at the top level and provide unforgettable experiences for our fans."

Shashwat Goenka, Vice Chairman of RP Sanjiv Goenka Group, added, "With the Super Giants represented in three prominent cricketing cities across different countries, we have a significant opportunity to cultivate a robust global sports brand while ensuring each team remains closely tied to its roots. For DSG, maintaining this balance is crucial. Our identity may be new, and our ambitions may be global, but our heart will always belong to Durban."
