Drunk Driver Steals Bulldozer, Causes Chaos in Wolverhampton
A Shocking Incident in Wolverhampton
While petty theft and drunk driving are common issues, a recent incident in Wolverhampton, England, took things to a whole new level. A man reportedly stole a massive 24-ton bulldozer and drove it recklessly through busy streets while under the influence, leading to a chaotic scene.
The 41-year-old suspect allegedly began his joyride in Stafford, causing significant damage to road surfaces, street furniture, and several vehicles as he sped through the city.
The bulldozer was seen racing along major roads, including Bridgnorth Road and Compton Road West, as well as the A4150 dual carriageway, creating panic among local residents. Charlene Harris, 47, who filmed the incident, described the scene as unbelievable, recalling how a crowd gathered outside a pub after hearing the commotion.
Harris noted that police initially used a Royal Mail lorry to block the road, warning bystanders to stay clear as the bulldozer approached. She remarked, 'The bulldozer easily smashed through the lorry. We were confused about what was happening, and there were many police trying to stop it.'
Ultimately, the bulldozer was halted on New Road in Willenhall at around 8:15 PM. Following the chaos, the driver was arrested, facing multiple serious charges, including drink driving, dangerous driving, criminal damage, theft, failure to stop, and using threatening behavior.
The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue, and he could face a lengthy prison sentence for his actions. This isn't the first instance of large vehicle theft; recently, a 12-year-old boy in Singapore stole a bus and drove it for five hours, covering nearly 100 kilometers with only minor scratches to the vehicle.
