Alumni Achievements in HPAS

Two distinguished graduates from Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry in Nauni have made their university proud by excelling in the highly competitive Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services (HPAS) examination. Their success underscores the university's significant role in shaping future civil servants in the state.

Megha Singh Kanwar, hailing from the Haati region of Sirmaur district, achieved the top rank in the unreserved category of the HPAS examination. In a remarkable feat, Aanchal Ghunta from the Nerwa subdivision also passed the exam and has been appointed as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), marking a rare dual success for the university's alumni.

From Rural Roots to Success

Megha, a resident of Khaniyud village in the Giripar-Pajhota area, is the daughter of Narendra and Anita Kanwar. She completed her early education at a government school in Shaya Sanaura and finished her Class XII at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Nahan. Following this, she pursued her degree at Dr YS Parmar University, where her hard work culminated in topping the HPAS, serving as an inspiration for many from tribal and rural backgrounds.

Aanchal Ghunta, from Ghuntari village in the Garha panchayat of Nerwa tehsil, is also an alumna of the same university, where she earned her BSc degree. She completed her schooling at Shaheed Shyam Singh Government Senior Secondary School. Currently, she works as an excise inspector in Kandaghat, having previously qualified for the allied services examination.

Keys to Their Success

Both Megha and Aanchal attribute their success to the solid academic foundation provided by their university, which enhanced their analytical skills and discipline—essential traits for exam preparation. Their journey emphasizes that a combination of strong educational grounding and self-study can lead to success in competitive state-level examinations.

After the results were announced, Megha expressed that sincerity, patience, and relentless effort were the cornerstones of her achievement. She emphasized her commitment to public welfare and transparent governance as an administrative officer. Aanchal echoed this sentiment, highlighting the significance of consistent hard work and determination in reaching long-term aspirations.
