Dr. Surya Kant Appointed Chair of National TB ICU Expert Committee
Significant Achievement for KGMU
King George Medical University, located in the capital of Uttar Pradesh, has achieved another significant milestone. Dr. Surya Kant has been entrusted with an important role as the Chairman of the National Expert Committee on TB ICU.
This committee will operate under the Ministry of Health and the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program. Under Dr. Surya Kant's leadership, the committee will develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and new guidelines for treating severe TB patients in medical colleges across the country. This initiative aims to strengthen the TB ICU facilities in these institutions.
Contributions to TB-Free India Mission
Dr. Surya Kant has been recognized for his exceptional contributions to TB elimination efforts. He has not only brought international recognition to India in the field of drug-resistant TB but has also personally treated over 500 TB patients, ensuring their successful recovery.
In light of this significant achievement, KGMU's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sonia Nityanand, congratulated him, stating that this is a matter of pride for both the university and the entire state. Dr. Surya Kant's expertise will greatly assist the nation in achieving the goal of a 'TB-Free India'.
