Double Murder Investigation in Greater Noida
Greater Noida double murder: In a shocking incident in the Knowledge Park area of Greater Noida, police have made significant revelations regarding the murder of two gardeners at the under-construction Sitaram Institute hostel. Authorities have conducted an encounter with the suspect in this double murder case, who has been apprehended. The accused has been identified as Abhishek, a resident of Meerut.
During the police investigation, it was revealed that the suspect attacked and killed both gardeners with a shovel after becoming upset over a trivial joke. Disturbingly, after committing the crime, the accused sat near the bodies for about four hours, drinking alcohol, before fleeing the scene in the morning.
A Joke Turns Deadly
Details of the Incident
In police questioning, Abhishek recounted that on the night of the incident, he was drinking with the deceased, Inder and Shishpal, in their room. During their drinking session, light-hearted banter ensued, which escalated when Inder and Shishpal made a joke that Abhishek found offensive. He admitted that he was deeply angered by the jest.
In a drunken rage, he picked up a shovel and struck Inder on the head, causing fatal injuries. Fearing that Shishpal would inform others about the incident, he then attacked Shishpal with the shovel as well, resulting in his death. Thus, a minor argument led to the tragic loss of two lives.
It was also revealed during the interrogation that the suspect did not flee immediately after the murders. Instead, he remained in the room for approximately four hours, consuming alcohol next to the bodies. When morning arrived, he told the security personnel he needed to use the restroom and seized the opportunity to escape.
Discovery of the Bodies
Gruesome Scene Uncovered
On Friday morning, when other staff members arrived at the hostel, they discovered both bodies lying in a pool of blood. The incident was promptly reported to the police. Upon arrival, law enforcement and forensic teams initiated an investigation. The victims were identified as Inder and Shishpal from Meerut, who had recently started working as gardeners at the hostel.
Following the double murder, multiple police teams were deployed to locate the suspect. During their search, they received a tip-off about his hiding location. When the police attempted to surround him, the suspect opened fire on the officers. In the ensuing exchange, he was shot in the leg, leading to his capture. He was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment.
According to Sudhir Kumar, the Additional DCP of Greater Noida, the police recovered the shovel used in the murders, along with a firearm and live ammunition from the suspect. Currently, police are continuing their interrogation and further actions regarding the case.
