Domestic Dispute Escalates into Violence Involving Police Officer in Gurugram

On August 5, a domestic dispute involving a Station House Officer (SHO) in Gurugram turned violent when her husband allegedly rammed their car into her official vehicle while she was on duty. The driver sustained injuries during the incident, as reported by local authorities.

Details of the Incident

The altercation reportedly occurred on August 3, when the accused created a disturbance at the Sector-40 police station, where the female officer serves as the SHO. Later, while traveling towards HUDA City Centre in her government vehicle, her husband allegedly collided with it near the Kanhai red light using his SUV.

Driver's Complaint

The complaint was filed by the SHO's driver, Constable Manish Kumar, who stated that the collision damaged the official vehicle and caused injuries to him. According to the complaint, the accused exited his vehicle, allegedly snatched the woman's purse, and fled the scene.

Injuries and Legal Action

The complaint further detailed that the female officer informed the driver that the individual involved was her husband. The incident occurred around 12:25 PM when a gray Safari struck their vehicle at the Kanhai red light. The impact was severe enough to damage the government vehicle and injure the complainant's neck and lower back.

Police Response

Based on the complaint, the police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused at the Sector-40 police station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Charges include reckless driving, causing injury through dangerous acts, obstructing a public servant, assaulting a public servant, and theft. A senior police official confirmed that a case has been filed against the SHO's husband, stating that an investigation is underway and appropriate legal action will follow.
