Shivakumar's New Role in Karnataka Bhavan

D.K. Shivakumar, the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, may not hold the chief minister's position, but he has secured a significant alternative: the Chief Minister's suite in the newly constructed Karnataka Bhavan in New Delhi. Upon arriving in the national capital on Tuesday, Shivakumar checked into the CM suite located on the fifth floor of the Karnataka Bhavan, which is exclusively designated for the Chief Minister.

However, when Chief Minister Siddaramaiah arrived in Delhi on Wednesday, he opted for the older CM suite located on the fifth floor of the previous Karnataka Bhavan. Sources indicated that during his last visit to Delhi, Siddaramaiah had stayed in the new CM suite but chose the older suite this time due to complaints about inadequate facilities, particularly ventilation issues in the new building.

The Congress party maintains that there is no confusion or change in leadership in Karnataka. Nevertheless, Shivakumar's decision to occupy the CM suite has not gone unnoticed. Known for adhering to party lines, Shivakumar has never concealed his ambition to lead the state. In the intricate dance of Congress politics, his move into the CM suite is seen by some as a strategic maneuver, hinting at deeper implications.
