District Collector Prioritizes Green Initiatives in Weekly Review Meeting
Focus on Environmental Campaigns
District Collector Abhishek Surana emphasized the Green Rajasthan campaign during the weekly review meeting, assessing various departmental initiatives including VBG Ramji, PM Housing, and OBC survey.
- Churu. On Monday, District Collector Abhishek Surana chaired a weekly review meeting at the DOIT VC auditorium, providing detailed instructions to all district and sub-district officials regarding the progress of various schemes and campaigns.
This week's central theme was the district-wide plantation drive scheduled for July 22 under the Green Rajasthan campaign.
The District Collector stated that the event on July 22 is not merely a one-day program but a symbol of our collective responsibility towards environmental conservation.
Each department is tasked with ensuring the planting of trees according to their allocated targets, tagging them with geo-coordinates, and ensuring the survival of the planted saplings—merely counting them is insufficient.
He instructed that regular care, irrigation, and protection of the plants should be arranged in advance. Development officers should take a leading role in seed sowing and planting activities in rural areas, collaborating with NGOs and community participation to transform the campaign into a public movement.
Regarding the ongoing rural and urban service camps, the District Collector emphasized that every individual's issue should be taken seriously and resolved promptly with quality service.
He directed the departments to maintain regular data entry during the camps and ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive timely benefits from the state government's welfare schemes.
While reviewing the contact portal, he mentioned that officials should not merely close complaints as a formality but ensure genuine satisfaction for the complainants. Unsatisfied cases should be verified and addressed with concrete actions.
He also instructed the swift issuance of administrative and financial approvals for development works under the VBG Ramji scheme, accelerating housing construction for beneficiaries under the PM Housing Scheme (Rural), and taking recovery actions against beneficiaries who have not constructed their homes.
Additionally, he reviewed the progress of the OBC survey, water conservation community participation 3.0, the Motherland campaign, tap water friends, the Clean India Mission (rural and urban), PM Svanidhi, the formation of Rajivika self-help groups, and the resolution of Chief Minister public hearing cases, providing necessary directives to the concerned officials.
Present at the meeting were CEO Shweta Kochhar, ACEO Bhagchand Kharia, and all district-level officials, while officials from all sub-districts joined via VC.
