Palampur: The recruitment drive for Nursery Teacher Training (NTT) roles in Himachal Pradesh has faced criticism following a chaotic incident at Villa Camilla, where interviews were set to occur. Numerous NTT certificate holders from different blocks flocked to the venue, eager to secure employment, only to encounter a disorganized and frustrating environment.

The venue was overcrowded, with thousands of women waiting for their opportunity. However, the absence of proper organization and management resulted in confusion and distress among the applicants. Only two officials were present to manage documentation, and their vague responses to questions left many candidates uncertain about whether genuine interviews were being conducted or if the entire process was merely a formality.

Many candidates voiced their worries regarding the integrity of the recruitment process, suspecting that favoritism might be at play. While they waited in anticipation for their turn, they found themselves entangled in a maze of unclear protocols and unanswered queries.

“If the interviews are conducted in this manner, it casts serious doubts on the transparency and merit-based selection,” remarked one exasperated candidate. “Individuals travel long distances with the hope of landing a job, only to be met with disappointment.”

There are calls for government intervention to ensure a fair and organized recruitment process. Critics warn that without adequate oversight, only those with connections will secure positions, leaving many qualified candidates overlooked. This situation has raised broader concerns about employment fairness in the area.
