Dimapur Police Dismantles Major Cocaine Trafficking Network

Dimapur, August 2: In a significant operation against organized drug trafficking, the Dimapur police have successfully dismantled a major interstate cocaine distribution network, resulting in the arrest of five individuals.
Authorities seized approximately 33 grams of suspected cocaine, which has been forwarded for forensic analysis.
As reported by the Dimapur Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), the apprehension of Tohuka Sema, also known as Toka (35), revealed a sophisticated interstate drug trafficking operation linked to three states and involving a Nigerian national.
The other four individuals arrested include Yeka Awomi (30), Biresh Kumar (22), Akhtar Hussain (35), and Swantheiba Inkah (25).
Awomi was captured in Pune, Maharashtra, while Biresh Kumar and Akhtar Hussain were taken into custody in Delhi.
Swantheiba Inkah, identified as a delivery agent, allegedly played a role in the transportation and delivery of the illegal substances.
Two additional suspects, currently located outside Nagaland, are evading capture, and efforts are underway to apprehend them, according to the DCP.
A case has been filed at the West police station in Dimapur under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act of 1985.
The investigation revealed that the syndicate procured and distributed cocaine via commercial courier services, utilizing a well-structured network of suppliers, handlers, and delivery agents.
The DCP noted that initial findings suggest the syndicate operated in a highly organized fashion, with specific roles assigned for procurement, financial transactions, interstate transport, and delivery through commercial logistics.
Further inquiries are ongoing to uncover additional associates, financial dealings, clientele, and the overall scope of the organized network.
