Diljit Dosanjh Faces Criticism Over Sardaar Ji 3 Amid Controversy
Backlash Against Diljit Dosanjh
Punjabi actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh is encountering significant backlash following the release of his latest film, Sardaar Ji 3, which features Pakistani actress Hania Amir. Many social media users have expressed their dissatisfaction, with some calling for a ban on Diljit and urging the removal of his role in the upcoming Bollywood film Border 2.
Border 2 Casting Controversy
A source close to the Border 2 production team clarified that there are no intentions to replace Diljit. The casting announcement was made nearly nine months ago, prior to the recent controversies, and approximately 40-50% of the film has already been filmed, making any changes impractical at this stage.
Industry Reactions
On June 25, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) reached out to Bhushan Kumar, co-producer of Border 2, and actor Sunny Deol, requesting them to cut ties with Diljit. However, neither party has publicly responded to these requests.
Official Appeals
FWICE has also contacted Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah, urging them to revoke the filming license for Border 2 at the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune.
Upcoming Statements
Reports suggest that the makers of Border 2 may issue a statement regarding the ongoing situation soon.
Neeru Bajwa's Response
Neeru Bajwa, who stars alongside Diljit in Sardaar Ji 3, has deleted all promotional content related to the film from her Instagram, including trailers and songs. While she has not made an official comment, speculation arises that she is attempting to distance herself from the controversy.
