Investigation Progresses with Recovery of DVR

The wreckage of the Air India aircraft that met with an accident has yielded a Digital Video Recorder (DVR), which is expected to assist investigators in determining the cause of the crash. The debris from the Boeing Dreamliner, which was en route to London after departing from Ahmedabad Airport, was discovered near a district hospital. An official from the ATS team involved in the investigation confirmed the recovery of the DVR, which could expedite the inquiry into the incident. Reports indicate that the tragic accident in Ahmedabad resulted in the loss of 297 lives. Out of the 242 passengers aboard, 241 fatalities have been confirmed, along with an additional 56 deaths linked to the crash in a residential area.


LIC Eases Claim Settlement Process for Victims

The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has announced a relaxation in the claim settlement process for victims of the Air India plane crash, aiming to expedite assistance for those affected. The corporation expressed its commitment to support individuals impacted by the accident and has implemented measures to hasten the claims process. In a statement, LIC mentioned that it has introduced several concessions to alleviate the difficulties faced by claimants of LIC policies. Instead of requiring a death certificate, any evidence of the policyholder's death due to the plane crash in government records or compensation paid by central/state government or airline officials will be accepted as proof of death.


Missing Persons Following the Accident

Witnesses have reported that individuals remain unaccounted for following the accident. A staff member from BJ Medical College, discussing the AI-171 crash, told a news agency, 'We ran for our lives. We have no information. At that time, we were making rotis... 3 to 4 children died, and 3 to 4 were admitted to the ICU. Since yesterday, a woman and a 2-year-old child are missing.'
