Did Israel Just Target Iran's Gas Industry? A Closer Look at the Recent Drone Strike

Israeli Drone Attack on Iranian Gas Facility

Dubai: Reports from semi-official Iranian news outlets indicate that an Israeli drone targeted a refinery located in Iran's South Pars gas field on Saturday.

If verified, this incident would represent the inaugural Israeli assault on Iran's oil and gas sector. As of now, Israel has not publicly confirmed the strike. Notably, these facilities are typically equipped with air defense systems, which Israel has been focusing on since Friday.

The news agencies Fars and Tasnim detailed that the drone strike occurred in Phase 14 of the gas field.

This gas field is significant as it is jointly operated by Iran and Qatar, extending across the Persian Gulf.
