Dia Mirza's Praise for 'Assi'

Mumbai, March 6: Actress Dia Mirza has expressed her strong admiration for filmmaker Anubhav Sinha's latest release, 'Assi', describing it as a significant and impactful cinematic work.

On her social media, Dia shared a clip from the film and commended both the director and the entire cast involved in the project.

In her post, she stated, “Thank you, Anubhav Sinha, for venturing into uncharted territories. For articulating thoughts that many shy away from. Most importantly, for heeding the call of your heart.”

She continued, “'ASSI' stands out as one of the most crucial films of our era. Every word, every pause, every beat evokes a profound emotion. Each performance resonates with authenticity. Immense gratitude to Team ASSI. @anubhavsinhaa Zindabad!”

Directed by Anubhav Sinha, 'Assi' boasts a talented ensemble cast that includes Taapsee Pannu, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Naseeruddin Shah, and Supriya Pathak, among others.

The film also features actors like Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub and Revathy, delving into intricate societal issues through compelling narratives and performances.

However, despite its strong storyline, the film struggled at the box office.

Trade analyst Girish Wankhede commented on the film's lackluster performance, noting that it failed to resonate with viewers despite its intriguing concept.

In an exclusive interview, Wankhede remarked, “The reason is straightforward. A film's poor performance indicates that the audience did not connect with it. They may not have grasped the film's essence. A more robust marketing strategy could have attracted a larger audience, but awareness was limited.”

He also highlighted the mixed critical reception and the film's limited star power as factors contributing to its underwhelming performance. “While Taapsee Pannu leads the film, she alone cannot carry it to success. There are various reasons for its disappointing results.”
