Dhubri District Congress Committee Takes Disciplinary Action Against 29 Members

In a significant disciplinary move, the Dhubri District Congress Committee has expelled 29 members for six years due to alleged anti-party activities following the recent Assembly elections. This decision, communicated by district president Asma Begum, reflects the party's commitment to maintaining discipline and cohesion within its ranks. The expelled members have also lost their primary membership, marking a continuation of the committee's strict stance against indiscipline, as seen in previous expulsions. With the elections held on April 9 and results due on May 4, the Congress leadership aims to consolidate its organizational structure in the post-election phase.

Dhubri, April 20: In a decisive disciplinary action following the recent Assembly elections, the Dhubri District Congress Committee (DDCC) has expelled 29 party members for a duration of six years due to alleged “anti-party activities.”

This decision was communicated through an official notice from district president Asma Begum, with immediate effect.

The expelled individuals have lost their primary membership as well.

Sources within the party indicate that this decision was made after an internal assessment of the members' behavior during the recently concluded Assam assembly elections, where their actions were deemed detrimental to the party's interests during the crucial electoral battle.

This action reflects a strict “zero-tolerance” policy from the district leadership towards indiscipline and internal disruptions, as the party aims to strengthen its organizational framework in the aftermath of the elections.

This is not the first instance of such disciplinary measures by the DDCC.

Prior to the Assembly elections, the committee had expelled 11 members on similar grounds, also for six years.

With this latest expulsion, the Congress leadership in Dhubri seems to be reinforcing its authority over the district unit, striving to maintain discipline and unity as it adjusts its strategies following the elections.

The Assam Assembly elections took place earlier this month on April 9, with the counting of votes and announcement of results set for May 4.
