Resignation Following Protests

In Bhubaneswar on August 8, senior BJP leader and Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan addressed the recent protests related to the NEET paper leak, stating that attempts were made to mislead the youth, referred to as 'Gen Z'. This statement came two weeks after he resigned from his position as the Union Minister of Education. Speaking to students and faculty at GM University, Pradhan shared his thoughts on his resignation for the first time amidst significant protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.


Pradhan emphasized, 'Gen Z is our future. Some individuals attempted to mislead them. Every year, at least 20 million children are born in India, totaling 200 million over the last decade. They have their own aspirations and will elevate India to a position of global leadership. For me, the position was not of paramount importance.'


He also mentioned that he had offered his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi before officially stepping down from the ministerial role on July 25.
