The Dharamshala Block Congress has expressed its strong discontent regarding the ongoing increases in petrol and diesel prices by organizing a significant protest against the central government. The demonstration was spearheaded by Pradesh General Secretary Devendra Jaggi and Block Congress President Harbhajan Singh, where party members vocally criticized the inflationary pressures affecting the public.

After the protest, a delegation from Congress presented a memorandum to the Hon’ble President via Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa, urging an immediate reversal of the fuel price increases.

Jaggi emphasized that the escalating fuel prices are adversely affecting everyday life, leading to higher transportation costs and increased prices for essential goods, which is putting a strain on family budgets. He cautioned that if the government does not take effective measures to manage prices and curb inflation, the Congress party will escalate its protests with greater public involvement.

In the memorandum, Harbhajan Singh pointed out that the government's policies are disproportionately impacting the middle class, laborers, and economically disadvantaged families. He noted that farmers, small business owners, and daily wage workers are experiencing significant financial strain due to rising transportation and agricultural expenses.

The protest saw participation from local leaders, including former Mayor Neenu Sharma and various Congress candidates from municipal wards, who reiterated the party's commitment to addressing public concerns and holding the government accountable.
