On January 3, 2026, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) in Dharamshala, located in District Kangra, made a notable breakthrough during a checkpoint operation at Jasur Chowk. The team detained two suspects and seized 26.63 grams of heroin (chitta) from them.
The individuals arrested have been identified as:
- Rohit Kumar alias Chikki, son of Ratan Lal, hailing from Model Town, Mud Hut Colony, District Pathankot (Punjab)
- Shivam, son of Deepak, residing in Dahki Municipal Colony, District Pathankot (Punjab)
A case has been filed at Police Station Nurpur under FIR No. 09/26 dated 03.01.2026, under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act. Both suspects are currently in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
Officials have indicated that the inquiry will also aim to reveal connections to a broader drug trafficking network.
