Compensation Discussions for Affected Passengers

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) announced on Friday that it is actively negotiating with IndiGo Airlines regarding compensation for passengers impacted by significant operational disruptions scheduled between December 3 and 5, 2025. According to the DGCA's press release, IndiGo has confirmed that all refunds for flights canceled during this period have been fully processed and returned to the original payment method.

Passenger Rights Under DGCA Regulations

The press release further stated that passengers are entitled to compensation under the DGCA Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR) Section 3, Series M, Part IV, which outlines provisions for facilities for passengers affected by denied boarding, cancellations, and delays. Passengers whose flights were canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled departure may claim additional compensation through a special link provided by the airline, if applicable.

IndiGo's Additional Support Measures

As part of additional support measures, IndiGo has launched a 'Care Symbol' (GOC) initiative, offering two travel vouchers worth ₹5,000 each (totaling ₹10,000) to affected passengers, valid for 12 months. This initiative applies to those whose flights were canceled or delayed by more than three hours during the specified period. Passengers can check their eligibility and submit their details for these vouchers through a special link available on the IndiGo website.
