Devastating Fire in Badayun Village Leaves Hundreds Homeless
Fire Engulfs Village Due to Storm
Late Wednesday night, a fierce storm in the village of Tappa Jamni, located in the Sahaswan area of Badayun district, sparked a fire from a transformer that rapidly spread, affecting nearly 200 homes and turning the entire village into a pile of ashes, according to an official report.
Local sources indicated that residents managed to escape to safety, although one individual suffered burns and was hospitalized at the community health center in Ujhani. Tragically, hundreds of livestock perished in the blaze.
Emergency response teams from the police and administration arrived at the scene to initiate rescue operations. Unfortunately, by the time fire trucks reached the village, it had already been reduced to ashes.
District Magistrate Avnish Kumar Rai confirmed that the incident was caused by the severe storm. He stated that police, fire services, medical teams, and ambulances were all present at the site. Fortunately, there were no reported fatalities, though one person sustained minor burns.
However, reports indicate a significant loss of livestock. Authorities are committed to assessing the damage promptly and ensuring compensation for affected residents, including those whose homes were damaged.
